What is reconstructive Areola tattooing?

 

Reconstructive tattooing aims to restore a natural and realistic appearance to the Nipple by recreating or improving the shape and symmetry of nipples and areolas.

Using Single use, medical grade needles and EU certified Inks, at the Scar Clinic we custom mix pigments to match each individuals skin tone creating realistic 3D Areolas, bringing colour and symmetry back to faded or misshapen nipples.

Generally two sessions are required for Areola tattooing. However, as we are tattooing scar tissue, compromised tissue can be unpredictable and in some cases may need more. Results last between 2-5 years, after which, top up sessions can maintain colour.​​​

Healing

After the treatment, for best results we advise keeping the area clean and dry for 5 days allowing for implantation of the ink into the dermal layer of skin. We advise avoiding direct sun exposure until skin has healed. Once healed, Spf is advised to maintain the tattoo.
